We collect what we need to check your charges and reach you about the results. We don't sell it, share it for ads, or keep it longer than 90 days.
What we collect
- Your report. The file you upload, exactly as it is. Depending on the app, it can include order numbers, dates, items, amounts and the customer's complaint. We don't ask for customer names or addresses.
- Your details. Restaurant name, email, and phone if you give it.
- Payment. If you unlock letters, Stripe handles your card on its own page. We never see or store your card number. We pass Stripe your email for the receipt, and Stripe tells us whether the payment went through.
- Visits. Like any website host, Cloudflare sees your IP address (the number that identifies your internet connection) when you load a page. We don't save it with your check or use it to track you.
We never ask for your delivery-app passwords. The site doesn't use analytics or ad trackers, and sets no cookies of its own.
Why we use it
To run the check, show your results and letters, and email you about your results. We may also look at uploads to fix problems or improve the check. We don't add you to a mailing list.
Where it's kept, and for how long
Your report and results are stored in a private storage bucket with Cloudflare, which hosts the site. Everything in it is deleted automatically 90 days after you upload, and your result link stops working then. Stripe keeps its own payment records, as payment companies must.
Who can see it
- Us at unComped.
- Cloudflare and Stripe, only to host the site and take payments.
- Anyone you share your result link with. The link is private and hard to guess, but anyone who has it can open your results, so keep it to yourself.
When a check comes in or is paid, we may send ourselves a short phone alert through a notification app (ntfy). It has your restaurant name and how many charges we found, never your email, phone or result link. We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
Deleting your data sooner
Email hello@getuncomped.com from the address you used, with your result link, and we'll delete your report and results. You can also ask what we hold about you.
